The Japanese Section of the International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy
IVR Japan is the Japanese Section of the International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (IVR). It serves as Japan’s representative body within the international IVR and promotes international academic exchange in the fields of legal philosophy, social philosophy, and related areas.
IVR Japan and the Japan Association of Legal Philosophy
IVR Japan operates under the Board of Directors of the Japan Association of Legal Philosophy (JALP). Its members are drawn from the membership of JALP, and its activities are organised in close connection with JALP.
While JALP is the principal academic association for legal philosophy in Japan, IVR Japan is responsible in particular for relations with the international IVR and for promoting international academic exchange.
Kobe Lecture
The Kobe Lecture is an international lecture series in legal philosophy organised by IVR Japan. Distinguished scholars from around the world are invited to Japan to present their work and engage in academic exchange with researchers in Japan.
IVR Japan International Conference
The IVR Japan International Conference is an international academic conference organised by IVR Japan. It brings together researchers and graduate students from Japan and abroad for presentations and discussions in legal philosophy, social philosophy, and related fields.
The conference also provides a venue for the Kobe Lecture.
